1. Overview
Makemind Ecosystem, Inc. ("Company", "we") operates Makemind Academy (the "Academy"). This Privacy Policy explains what we collect when you use the Academy, how we use it and whom we share it with.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: when you start using the Academy with your Makemind account, we receive your name, email address and profile photo, and an identifier for you that only the Academy uses.
Learning information: lessons you mark done, certification tasks you submit (including the address of your repository and the result of its checks), reviewers' notes and the badges you earn.
Purchases: the offerings you buy, amounts, order status and the payment provider's reference. We do not receive card numbers.
Crew information: for people who publish as a crew, the crew they belong to and their role, as reported by the Makemind Guild.
Usage data: IP address, device and browser information and request logs kept by our hosting provider.
3. How We Use Your Information
To provide the courses and remember your progress; to check and review certification tasks and issue badges; to process orders and support them; to let crews manage the offerings they publish; to prevent abuse; and to improve the Academy using aggregated information.
4. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Public badge page: your name, the path, the task version and the date.
- Makemind Guild: if you have a Guild profile under the same verified email address, we send your badges to it. To let a crew publish, we ask the Guild which crews your address belongs to.
- Crews: when you buy an offering, the crew that teaches it sees your email address, the offering and the order status, so it can deliver the course or kit.
- Makemind platform and payment providers: to process payments and refunds.
- Service providers who host and operate the Academy (Google Cloud and Firebase), under data-processing terms.
- Authorities, when required by law.
5. Embedded Content
Lessons embed videos from YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode) and link to repositories on GitHub. When you play a video or open a repository, those services process data under their own privacy policies.
6. Cookies and Storage
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a second cookie that records when you were last active, so an inactive administrator session can be ended. The browser's session storage may hold a flag for test sign-in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
7. Storage and Retention
Data is stored on Google Cloud (Firebase) in the United States. We keep account and learning data while you use the Academy. When you leave the Academy, your profile, progress and submissions are deleted within 30 days; orders and payout records are kept as long as the law requires; badges already sent to the Guild remain there until you remove them.
8. Your Rights
You may access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. Contact support@makemind.app; we respond within 30 days.
9. Children
The Academy is not intended for people under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children and will delete it if we learn of it.
10. Changes to This Policy
Material changes are announced in the Academy at least 30 days before they take effect. A published version is never edited; changes are published as a new version.
